How it all started...
Through much prayer and leading of the Holy Spirit, Central Baptist Church was formed in October of 1943. The purchase of the Wesley Methodist Church provided a place for this new beginning, and in November of that same year, 144 people were part of the charter membership. The church called its first pastor, Rev. O. F. Dingler, in February of 1944. The new church, through the power of Holy Spirit, experienced great growth in the early years. In July of 1945, the property, where Central Baptist is still located, was purchased, and a facility began being planned. By the close of its third year, the church had 762 members.

Expanding the vision...
For almost 80 years, Central Baptist Church has been a presence for God's mission in the world. While honoring traditions and the past, we eagerly anticipate God to move in new ways through the church. While we focus on worship, evangelism, discipleship, and missions, we continue to trust in the power of Holy Spirit to bring new lives and new faith stories for the future of God's Church.
Where we are headed...
Pastor Jerry Vincent was called by the leadership of Central Baptist in December of 2018 with the explicit purpose of bringing revitalization to the congregation. Under pastor Jerry's leadership, the church is experiencing God’s blessing in our midst, with a new commitment to sharing the gospel to Marshall, TX and beyond. Come and be a part of our future.
